Code of Ethics

PBSA Code of Ethics is to defines Members’ ethical behavior and Code of Conduct. This Code of Conduct is an integral part of the PBSA’s Internal Rules and Procedures.

  1. Frame once’s business and ethical behavior as a rule of the game in acting with others.
  2. Members prohibit discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, marital status, political or other opinions.
  3. Members are committed to a violence-free work environment, and will not tolerate any level of violence or the threat of violence in dealings with each other or third parties.
  4. Members must respect confidential information regarding other members and the association.
  5. Support and participate in the PBSA organized events.
  6. Avoid anything that might harm the reputation of PBSA.
  7. Members respect and comply with intellectual property rights.
  8. Members seek to develop constructive relations with the city, provincial, or federal government bodies to achieve a positive business climate.
  9. Act with honesty and always behave ethically even in situations where the law is unclear or is still developing.
  10. Sustain and promote the application of these principles among the PBSA members and the whole business environment of Alberta.

As an organization committed to high standards of conducting business, collaboration, and professional behavior, the PBSA requires adherence to this Code of Ethics. Each member is expected to comply with this Code of Conduct and shall be responsible for ensuring that its personnel are aware and comply with this policy.

In case any PBSA member violates any principles/rules stipulated in this Code of Ethics, the PBSA Board will review the membership of the company or individual. The PBSA Board will terminate members that will violate the Code of Ethics after an initial written warning has been issued by the President and the Board.
